A study in the contrasts of light and color.

Oddly, the brilliant red-orange blossoms of this Nasturtium variety hid in pairs beneath smoky, blue-green tinted leaves… all seeming to suggest, somehow, a sweet, forbidden love.



Artist's Note:
The photos of this painting were particularly difficult to color correct. While the image above most closely resembles the actual hues of the painting, (computer monitor differences aside), most of the flower's pedal shading was lost in conversion. The detail below shows those shadings, but the colors are wrong.
